Michael and Kambra met during a ministry internship in the summer of 2003 at a large church in the south suburbs of Chicago. For Michael, it was love at first sight. For Kambra, it took some convincing. They were married in April of 2007 and welcomed their son, William, into the world in 2014, and their daughter, Norah, in 2016.
Kambra, grew up in the church, and was the granddaughter of a pastor. She has felt the call to ministry her entire life. Michael, got saved in the 6th grade after his father rededicated his life to the Lord, following many after falling away from the faith. Michael, felt the calling to ministry soon after his encounter with the Lord in middle school. Both of them served in multiple capacities in their local churches through out the years.
Kambra, sang in a traveling church choir, led a follow up outreach team, ministered at nursing homes, led prayer teams, served as a church nursery director, and more.
Michael led church drama teams for elementary thru high school ages, led at home bible studies, he trained and led evangelism teams, served as a deacon at his local church, led his church media tech team, served as youth pastor, among other ministerial roles.
On a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota in the Spring of 2021 with their children, Michael and Kambra were inspired to start The Highway Church. Kambra had the travel bug and was ready to sell everything and live in an RV full time. Michael was a little more \"reasonable\". That is until God got ahold of his heart. Once the seed of ministry was planted, that was it. There was no turning back. After more than a year of casually discussing the idea, it was finally time to get going.
The Ministry was officially incorporated in May of 2023 and the grand adventure began!
The Mission Field
Mobilizing the Local Church
Our Mission is to reach the nomads; the people who have left societal norms to chase adventure. We will meet them where they are as they search for meaning in the majesty of God\'s creation.
There are over 1 million Full Time RV\'ers in the United States. These are people who are either \"unchurched\" or unreached by local churches and community outreach. They are hungry and searching for truth.
We travel the country and live full time in an RV. At campgrounds we build relationships with fellow campers, especially full timers, to minister to them and preach the gospel. We also visit tourist attractions and do street evangelism to reach the lost.
Our Ministry
As we meet more full time RV\'ers along the way, they can utilize our Live Streaming of our Weekly Church service as a way to stay connected and stay fed with the Word of God.
Another major pillar of our ministry is going to major tourist attractions and busy areas to share the Gospel with people on the streets.
In our travels, we are likely to come across many that need solid Biblical and Pastoral Counseling. For matters that are not spiritual in nature we will refer people to trained professionals.
- As many full time RVers do, we document our escapades on our social media channels. The good the bad and the ugly.
Where ever in the country we happen to land, we will hold a church service for the local campers in the RV park.
A major pillar of our ministry is meeting full time RVers and being a missionary to them, and preaching Jesus to them, and building relationships with them.
Partnering with local churches or just folks in the camp ground, we will hold special prayer meetings to encourage and edify people.
We work with local churches to provide ministry training to Men\'s Groups, Women\'s Groups, Youth Groups etc. on how to do effective ministry.
